Samsung has been testing in-display fingerprint sensor ( Fingerprint Sensor under display ) for a while. Though there are rumors of bringing that tech to Galaxy S8 & Note 8 there is no trace of it till now. There are few rumors about bringing this feature to Note 9. They never announced it officially just the rumors floating around the internet.
Apart from that, the feature didn’t materialize. The new report from Bell suggested that the Galaxy Note 9 won’t feature an in-display fingerprint sensor and they would go with their usual placement of rear position.
So, Galaxy Note 8 will not feature the in-display sensor but the Vivo X20 Plus UD smartphone will be the likely phone to feature in-display fingerprint sensor developed by Synaptics.
The initial review suggested that X20 Plus UD in-display fingerprint sensor is working good but there is a delay when compared to a usual fingerprint unlock. Though Vivo manufactures the mobile only to China & India, the availability of those phones around the globe is negligible.
So, Samsung stepping up the game & testing this feature might be a good movie, they should bring this feature as soon as possible to be ahead of their competitors.
